This program offers students the most personalized support. It can be given in French or in English, depending on the student's mother tongue and the language of instruction at school. It is recommended for students who are experiencing great difficulty, who are failing in a subject or in an important skill. Whatever the cause of these difficulties, we will work together to find the right strategies to remedy them.
Tutoring will help the student acquire reading strategies, enrich his or her vocabulary, and learn the rules of grammar in order to write structured and coherent texts.
In mathematics, they will help students improve their understanding of problem solving, acquire vocabulary specific to the subject, and adopt a good working strategy to answer a problem adequately. In addition, this program will support the student in learning science and history. The courses can be given individually or in small groups of the same level.
Help with Homework
This program offers the student specific academic support after school. It is recommended for the student who needs regular follow-up and guidance to answer questions, to clear up misunderstandings or difficulties. After school, it is very important that the student receives what he/she needs: effective support, clear explanations and answers, thus reinforcing his/her learning. In this way, we can avoid the accumulation of misunderstood notions that can lead to failure and abandonment. Every day, lessons are reviewed and help is given to complete homework. We stimulate, motivate and give confidence to our students to lead them on the path to autonomy and success.
Classes are held in small groups, daily, to ensure the best possible academic success.
Preparation for high school entrance exams
This program is designed for students in grades 5 and 6. We evaluate the student during the 5th year of elementary school. Based on the results, we prepare lessons to review, in particular, the less successful concepts. Throughout the process, assessments are conducted to measure the student's progress and to train for the high school entrance exam. Grammar concepts are worked on thoroughly and diligently. The writing of several narrative and descriptive texts is planned. The teacher's correction allows the student to identify common errors and shows him/her how to remedy them effectively. General knowledge, mathematics and logic are also worked on. An English course may be suggested depending on the school attended and the schools targeted. Classes are given in small groups. If you enroll your child in grade 5, he/she will be able to learn at his/her own pace throughout the year, which we strongly recommend. If not, they can still follow the program intensively during the summer to prepare for the exams which, as a reminder, take place in October of the 6th grade. *Enriched and international program, private or international school
